Apple in a strategic move has slashed the price of its pre flagship phone Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus by Rs 22000. This reduction in price is aimed at two things, one to encourage the aspirational buyers and second as iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is entering the Indian market from October 7 the premium price tag is to be given to the latest models. Another big advantage Apple gets in the premium smartphone range is Samsung’s S7 is out of the competition. So Apple aims to follow the proverb ‘Make hay while the sun shines’. Hence Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus price dropped by Rs 22000.
This is quite an interesting move by Apple to increase its market share from 47 percent to 60 percent in the premium smartphone range. Apple has discontinued 16GB and 64GB variants in iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. And at the same time, it has introduced 32GB versions.
Updated prices of Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus:
The price of iPhone 6s 128GB variant which was previously Rs 82000 has been dropped to Rs 60000. While the price of iPhone 6s 32GB i.e. base version is fixed at Rs 50000. One the other hand the price of iPhone 6s Plus which was previously Rs 92000 has been slashed to Rs 70000. Similarly, the price of iPhone 6s Plus 32GB i.e. base version is priced at Rs 60000.
Price of Apple iPhone 7 and 7Plus:
The new flagship phones from Apple will be coming in three variants as 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Apple iPhone 7 base version 32GB is priced at Rs 60000, 128GB at Rs 70000, and 256GB at Rs 80000. The other new entry from Apple which is iPhone 7 Plus base version 32GB is priced at Rs 72000, 128GB at 82000, and 256GB at 92000.

If you observe the pricing difference, it’s Rs 10000 from one model to other. Apple also slightly reduced the prices of older models. The Apple iPhone SE 16 GB version which had been selling at Rs 39000 is dropped to Rs 35000. While Apple iPhone SE 64GB version which was previously at Rs 49000 is now available at Rs 44000.
Apple is definitely inviting Indian customers to grab this opportunity and at the same time, it is using this duration when Samsung is out to capture more market share in premium segment phones.
