Yes, what you read is correct. Meizu’s Super mCharge can charge a 3000mAh battery in just 20 minutes. Meizu during the Mobile World Congress 2017, has unveiled its latest break trough in smartphone charging. The technology is named as Super mCharge and is the successor of mCharge technology. Another interesting thing about Super mCharge is despite very fast charging it does not heat the smartphone beyond 39 degrees. Meizu has demonstrated this in the MWC 2017 by charging a 3000mAh smartphone battery from 0 to 30 percent in 5 minutes, 80 percent in 15 minutes and 100 percent in just below 20 minutes.
Meizu’s Super mCharge:
Meizu claims that the charging speed through Super mCharge is 11 times faster than iPhone 7 Plus and 3.5 times faster than Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. To achieve this top charging speed Meizu has raised the power level to 55W leaving behind both Quick Charge 3.0 and Oppo’s VOOC at levels 18W and 20W respectively.
Achieving great charging speed is just half work done. Meizu has also got the Woh! factor by maintaining the temperature to below 39 degrees during charging. So one can even use their mobile phones to answer the calls or watch videos during charging.
The Super mCharge achieves 98% whereas Quick Charge 3.0 gets up to 89% and VOOC up to 95% in efficiency. To reach such a high-efficiency Meizu used optimized charge pump technology. Meizu claims that this technology uses just half the electric current than normal. This technology uses two groups of circuits to charge pump and exports half of the voltage.
Meizu says that Super mCharge is very safe and secure to use and for this, the company has redesigned the data cable and USB port. Apart from this, the company has also taken additional measures like Voltage monitoring system, current monitoring system, and a 10-level safety procedure.
Ultimately, Meizu has further raised the levels for a very fast smartphone charging and that too without heating it. This not only makes the users happy but also increases the life of electronic parts used in the smartphone. So, hope Meizu to introduced this Super mCharge technology in its upcoming smartphone models.
