It is also mentioned in the messages that only people with an invitation can enable this feature. It is also totally wrong, if you have a smartphone which is capable of video calling then you update to latest version of WhatsApp and get Video Calling Feature.
What happens if you click the WhatsApp Video Calling Invite link?
Well, you would be redirected to a malicious site which will try to install spam code into your smartphone. But one good thing is Google has recognised such links as malicious and warns you before entering such sites. If you use Chrome browser on your smartphone then you can see this warning.
On other browsers, you may not see this warning. If you proceed further then you would be asked to activate WhatsApp Video calling. And when you click the button a new malicious code is downloaded onto your smartphone. And in the next step, you would be asked for user verification. For this, you have to invite 4 friends and post this invite in 4 active groups in order to prove you are an active WhatsApp user. At last, you would end up in posting this invite message into groups but never get WhatsApp Video Calling feature.
So, finally beware of malicious and spam WhatsApp Video Calling Invite and never click on the links give.
